ACA Australia is a national membership-based professional association for people working to achieve accessibility of the built environment for people with a disability. It is the peak national body for access consultancy in Australia and a major partner in advancing equity of built environmental accessibility for people with a disability.

Additional LHA Registered Assessors Courses for 2014 - Register Now

The Association of Consultants in Access Australia (ACAA) seeks registrations from persons wishing to participate in courses to become a Registered Assessor under the Livable Housing Design Guidelines in various states. The nationally agreed Livable Housing Design Guidelines assist you to understand, promote and deliver livable designed homes. The Guidelines provide technical advice and guidance on the key easy living features that make a home easier and safer in which to live for people of all ages and abilities.
Livable Housing Australia’s Registered Assessors are independent consultants who evaluate the design and completed construction of residential dwellings against the Livable Housing Design Guidelines.

It is great to see that already some major projects e.g., the Commonwealth Games Athletes Village (CGAV) on the Gold Coast are moving into Livable Housing and will be assessed by LHA assessors. The CGAV will include a mixture of Silver and Gold Standard Designs.

ACAA Management Committee has put considerable effort into making sure its members would have an opportunity to become LHA Registered Assessors. ACAA have partnered with IATA, who are approved by LHA to deliver the courses.

The cost for the course for ACAA members is $300 and Non-members is $380 plus GST.

Adelaide - August 14th, 2014
Sydney - September 11th, 2014
Brisbane - October 13th, 2014
Melbourne - October 28th, 2014
Perth - November 27th, 2014

ACAA and IATA reserve the right to cancel courses at any time if necessary. If cancellation occurs all fees paid by registrants will be refunded in full.
